What is Existential Therapy?

October 27, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Want to find out more about this deeply life affirming therapy? Sydney based existential psychotherapist Dr Alison Strasser will be talking about existential psychotherapy, the origins, the benefits and how you can learn more about moving towards a meaningful and authentic life.

What is Existential Therapy?

In a nutshell, existentialist psychotherapy deals with the serious issues which affect human existence, such as death, meaning, loss, despair, anxiety and freedom. An existential psychotherapist can help us grapple with these human dilemmas which we all will face at some time in our lives and help us move toward a more authentic and free existence.

Existentialist thought has been proposed and passed around between philosophers since Nietzsche and Kierkegaard in the 1800s. Existential therapy grew out of these ideas to help people deal with the human condition’s struggles.
