Victor’s Story

4x 2hr sessions delivered over 2 days, 10am-12noon & 1-3pm

In this workshop, students will be taken on a journey through invasion/colonisation and the impacts over 6 generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally. Students will develop understanding of how invasion/colonisation has impacted the cross-cultural connection and how non-indigenous workers can build their capacity to engage community effectively.

Note: This course is open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff and community members.

By the end of this workshop, students will have achieved the following learning objectives:

  • increased knowledge on intergenerational trauma
  • understanding the impacts of intergenerational trauma
  • use of cultural resources when engaging community
  • opportunity to build self-confidence for cross-communication

This course is being delivered by Youth-Led Services.
