Living Well Photography Competition 2022

In celebration of Mental Health Month, Sydney Local Health District is running a Photography Competition. The competition is open to all mental health carers, consumers, inpatients and anybody with a lived experience of mental illness residing in the state of NSW and Sydney Local Health District staff.
Theme: ‘Building Resilience’
Our lives after the COVID-19 pandemic have changed in so many ways. Social distancing, health screening, mask wearing, hand hygiene and isolation have become the new norm. We are seeking photographs that portray your resilience post pandemic. Show us the things that keep you strong, safe and positive. Share with us the moments that gives you hope and happiness with each new day. Tell us about you and your strengths. Along with your photograph we want you to tell us, in a maximum 100 words, the thoughts and feelings behind your photograph.
Exhibition
A selection of the best photographs will be displayed in the foyer of the Professor Marie Bashir Centre from Monday, 10th October 2022 till Sunday, 30th October 2022. The best photographs with the text and anonymised photographers name (e.g. John D., Jane D.) may be published on relevant official social media platform (e.g. Facebook, Instagram) after Monday, 10th October 2022 in accordance with the Sydney Local Health District guidelines and policies.
Awards
There will be first, second and third prize, a staff award and a technical award. There will be honourable mentions along with certificates for the works of merit too.
Only mental health carers, consumers, inpatients and anybody with a lived experience of mental illness residing in the state of NSW are eligible for the below prizes.
- First Prize $300
- Second Prize $200
- Third Prize $100
Only Sydney Local Health District staff are eligible for the below prize.
- SLHD Staff Award $100
All mental health carers, consumers, inpatients and anybody with a lived experience of mental illness residing in the state of NSW and Sydney Local Health District staff are eligible for the below prize.
- Technical Award $100
Submission Details
Closing date for submissions is midnight Friday, 30th September 2022. Entrants can submit up to 3 photographs. Please read terms and conditions for further details. Entry is free
